On a fine Indian summer Sunday Jerry led a 12.5 mile walk.
From Rye the group enjoyed a riverside walk along the banks of the River Rother to Camber. From Camber the route took them across Romney Marsh to East Guldeford and then along a short stretch of the Saxon Shore Way to Iden Church for a picnic lunch in the churchyard.
The afternoon part of the walk took the ramblers back to the starting point via Rye Foreign and Leasam. This was a lovely walk enhanced by perfect walking weather.
October offers a variety of walks varying in length from five to 14 miles so hopefully there's something for everyone. If you would like to find out more about the Beachy Head Ramblers and future walks please telephone a member of the committee: Peter, programme secretary 01424 844219; Graham, membership secretary 01424 216951; Liz, publicity, 726120. Or link to the website by visiting www.ramblers.org.uk.
