A former butler has turned his hand to making jewellery and opened his own shop in Eastbourne.
Geoff Thompson opened the doors of Gef Tom Son in the Enterprise Centre six weeks ago.

No longer at the beck and call of the rich, Geoff says he loves to pamper the customers who come into his shop to purchase necklaces, bracelets and earrings, all of which he puts together on the premises.

The jewellery is made out of gemstones from all over the world.

He said, "I make jewellery for women of all ages. I sell trendy things for teenagers to jewellery for business women."

The self-taught jewellery expert said he uses more than 50 different types of gemstone and every piece is unique. People can go into the shop and have something made up while they wait.

He added, "The women can stay from 10 minutes to an hour if they want to. I have such a vast stock that customers can play around until they have found what they want."
