A scheme to encourage Eastbourne businesses to use local suppliers has been launched.
Buy Local Eastbourne was launched on Thursday April 3 at the Brasserie, The Enterprise Centre, and 120 local business leaders attended.

Siân Maher, director of Grafters Recruitment Consultants, organised the event.

She said, "It makes sense to start looking after our local companies, after all we are the ones who are putting our profits back into our community. So any encouragement to switch our suppliers will benefit our town.

"If everyone installs a buy local policy into their lives, then we should all see the benefit."

Speeches were given by Siân, Steve Clark, MD at TR Beckett, Tim Cobb from Cobb PR, Sam Gillis from Grafters Accountancy Personnel and Mark Lambird from Eastbourne Motoring Centre.

The organisers of the scheme plan to create a website directory which lists all of the relevant information required when choosing a new supplier.

To contribute to the directory, contact Siân Maher at: info@buylocaleastbourne.com

The next Buy Local Eastbourne event is a golf day on Friday, May 16, at Willingdon Golf Club. It costs £160 to enter a team and the price includes dinner.

To enter a team contact Charles Goodall at info@buylocaleastbourne.com
