Number one seed Svetlana Kuznetsova was in a relaxed and confident mood ahead of the Women's International Open.
The 2004 Eastbourne champion is the new favourite to land the Devonshire Park crown following the withdrawal of French Open holder Ana Ivanovic and the recent retirement of defending champion Justine Henin.

The 25-year-old Russian, who also won the US Open at Flushing Medows in 2004 said, "You have to be confident. I would not be sitting here if I thought I did not have a chance of winning the tournament."
